How We Can Help You

Lasting Powers of Attorney were brought in to replace Enduring Powers of Attorney from 1st October 2007.  Enduring Powers of Attorney before this date may still be valid.  Please contact us for our opinion.  Lasting Powers of Attorney are a more detailed document.  We can provide you with full details.  Please simply complete our FREE, NO OBLIGATION Online Enquiry Form.

LASTING POWERS OF ATTORNEY

A Power of Attorney is a document in which one person (the donor) gives another person (the donee) authority to act on his or her behalf and in his or her name.  An Ordinary Power of Attorney is cancelled if the donor becomes mentally incapable.  A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), however, remains in force despite the donor’s mental incapacity, provided that it is registered with the Office of the Public Guardian.

LPAs can be created by anyone and are a sensible precaution against the accidents, illnesses and injuries that can incapacitate a person of any age.  The alternative is a lengthy and costly Deputyship application to the Court of Protection.

Fixed fees are available for both the preparation and registration of a LPA.

CHANGE OF NAME

For a fixed fee, we can advise on the relevant law and the enrolment procedure and prepare the necessary documents for adults and children alike.
